Florence + The Machine have been stunning audiences in Australia ahead of their New Zealand shows this month.
Kicking off their Australasian tour in Perth on Saturday night at the RAC Arena, fans were treated to an eclectic greatest hits style setlist (while also performing the majority of their latest ‘High As Hope’ album and debuting a whole new track ‘Moderation’).
Set against an understated lineal backdrop that looked like stacked pallets Florence, supported by her eight-piece machine, enthusiastically and contemporarily danced her way through the band’s four albums that have always resonated with Australian audiences…
…Her stunning voice filled the arena and whipped the crowd into a frenzy as she revisited fan favourites from 2009 debut-album Lungs and 2011 album Ceremonials with tracks like Only If For a Night and Dog Days Are Over. – WAtoday.com.au
Obviously feeling very secure in the safety of the Australian audience, lead singer Florence Welch even left the stage at one point to dance amongst the crowd – a rare treat for concert goers in this day and age!
The pinnacle of Welch’s crowd interaction came though during the penultimate song of the main set, Delilah, when she ran to the back of the general admission area and jumped into the mosh pit, jumping up and down with pure glee to the awe of the local worshippers bouncing around her. – The West Australian
