Franz Ferdinand
29th December 2008
Rhythm & Vines Festival, Gisborne, New Zealand
I always feel it’s a bit hit or miss shooting bands at festivals. Often the stages are huge, making it difficult to shoot the performers. The lighting is often uninspired and generic with giant spotlights that make it difficult to impossible to get a correct exposure. Sometimes you’ll even get stuck with a band who is playing during the day and isn’t really into it and you won’t even be able to see the stage lighting. Luckily for me, when I got to finally shoot Franz Ferdinand during their set at Rhythm & Vines none of the above applied. As you will see in the photos these brilliant musicians absolutely rocked that festival, and were an absolute highlight of the whole three days!
