The Westside Story album will be an unforgettable swan song for a man who for 15 years has been part of the new generation of artists from Compton, building the Westcoast hip hop music sound. With confirmed new with beats from Dr Dre and an already confirmed feature with Kendrick Lamar this album looks to have “Grammy” already written all over it.
In 2005, Jayceon Terrell Taylor, better known as The Game, released one of the seminal albums in rap music – The Documentary. Billboard declared it “one of the best rap albums of the year” and Entertainment Weekly suggested “with the brightest hip-hop stars aligning for him, The Game may have willed himself a popular masterpiece.” West Coast rap legend Dr. Dre was the Executive Producer and sold more than 5 million copies. Game exited Dr. Dre’s Aftermath label for his follow-up album, 2006’s Doctor’s Advocate, but that didn’t stop him from again hitting No. 1 on the album chart. His chart success continued with 2008’s LAX, which reached No. 2 on the chart, and 2011’s The R.E.D. Album, which returned him to the top of The Billboard 200.
In 2015 The Game released “The Documentary 2” – his 6th solo album and a celebration of 10 years since his massive debut album. The sequel to his critically acclaimed debut, features appearances from Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Diddy, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Drake and more.
