Press Release:

Ezra has become the UK’s breakout pop star with a slew of hum-worthy tunes and a reputation for self-aware lyricism, a trend that’s continued with his 2018 album, Staying At Tamara’s.

Much of the album was written in Barcelona, where he managed to stay incognito for a month – until his Airbnb hostess looked him up on Spotify and realised that she knew his track ‘Budapest’ (with 365 million streams, it’s hard not have heard it) and burst into the room with a triumphant “I knew I recognised you.”

The wisdom of taking time away from the popstar life is evident. Staying At Tamara’s combines reflective tales of young life and love with relentless optimism, creating a collection of songs that are immensely relatable.

‘Shotgun’ is just the latest in a run of hits that are making George Ezra a worldwide phenomenon. His live performances are no less top of the pops – Ezra looks set to tour this album as long as the last one, and European dates through to the middle of next year are already sold out.

New Zealand first got to see George Ezra in a festival setting just before the release of the much lauded Staying At Tamara’s. This time fans will get the chance to experience his full live arena show, with all the hits from Wanted On Voyage and Staying At Tamara’s. The Independent gave his recent London concert five stars, calling it a “brilliantly enjoyable evening”. Don’t miss the British hitmaker in his first New Zealand headline show.
