Grammy, Golden Globe and Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer has announced two special guests for his upcoming Australia and New Zealand concert experience ‘Hans Zimmer Revealed.’
With all shows selling fast, Zimmer has announced that he will be joined on stage by two of the world’s most renowned film vocalists, Lebo M and Lisa Gerrard. Known the world over as the voice and spirit of The Lion King, the Tony-nominated Lebo M worked as an arranger, co-producer and performer on both the Disney feature film and the hit broadway musical as well as other films including The Power of One, Congo, Tears of the Sun and The Legend of Tarzan.
Lisa Gerrard, besides being a part of the beautiful dark end group Dead Can Dance is also herself an acclaimed film composer, winning a Golden Globe for her work with Hans Zimmer on the score for Gladiator. She was further nominated for her work on Ali and The Insider as well as snaring an Academy Award nomination for the lauded score for Whale Rider. She is also one of the world’s most in-demand vocalists, recently performing alongside the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
‘Hans Zimmer Revealed’ is a multi-layered experience for concertgoers and a must-see concert event, featuring career-spanning music from Zimmer’s multi-decade career. The tour kicked off last year with a sold-out two night run at London’s Wembley Arena before embarking on a 33-city run that included shows in major European cities including London, Paris, Munich, Prague, Geneva, Dublin and Vienna to name just a few. The tour received rave reviews in every city.
The concert will be in two parts: the first being some of Zimmer’s classic movie scores including GLADIATOR, THE LION KING and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, and the second featuring re-imagined versions of some classic scores such as THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY and INCEPTION.
“Performing a concert series like this is something that I have always wanted to do, and I am thrilled to visit Australia and New Zealand and return to Europe where we had so much fun playing in the summer,” said Zimmer. “I am very excited to get some of my very talented friends together and give our audiences an experience unlike any concert they have ever been to before.”
