Meatstock (The Music & Meat Festival) is a two day event that has made the jump across the ditch from Australia, and thank goodness it has! Blending some stunning live musical acts with generous helpings of craft beer and delicious delicious (mostly) barbequed meat is an inspired idea for a festival (despite what the Vegan group ‘Starfish Bobby Calf Project’ protesting outside the grounds would have you believe). Another highlight of the event is the barbeque workshops/classes, arguably the most popular was that of ‘Big Moe Cason’ from Ponderosa BBQ – the legend of barbequed meat made famous by not only his award winning mad cooking skills but also for appearing on hit TV show BBQ Pit Masters. Another popular event is the Cutthroat Barber Wars – there are truly some skilled barbers on show! For those that missed out on day one of Meatstock, there are still tickets available for today – so head on down to the Showgrounds and check it out, and make sure you take an empty stomach… you’ll thank us for it afterwards!
Were you there at the ASB Showgrounds to partake in this meaty festival? Or have you been to one of the other dates of this festival somewhere else? Tell us about it in the comments below!
