Press Release:

Over the last decade, Miguel has established himself as one of R&B’s most sonic fabulists, a consummate artist unafraid to follow his impulses wherever they lead him. His fourth studio full-length, “War & Leisure”, is his most ambitious and stunning project yet, a perfect blend of forward-thinking production and melodic delights that more than embody the duality hinted at in the album’s title.

Following the mind-blowing and thoroughly sensual “Wildheart” in 2015 and the skyward pop of 2012’s “Kaleidoscope Dream” (which netted him a Best R&B Song) Grammy win in 2013 for its astounding single ‘Adorn’, “War & Leisure” features the loose- limbed funk of ‘Pineapple Skies’ and the atmospheric club vibes of ‘Skywalker’ to the body-moving ‘Caramelo Duro’, Miguel states, “I like challenging my fans by doing things they wouldn’t expect me to do—to show them a little more about myself.”

The album features collaborators including producers Jeff Bhasker (Kanye West, Jay Z) and Dave Sitek (Santigold, Kelis) and vocal contributions from J. Cole, Travi$ Scott and Rick Ross. Miguel’s swathe of appearances have included performances on Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2017, “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”, and “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon”, even joining Mexican pop-singer Natalie Lafourcade on the song ‘Remember Me’ from the Pixar record-setting film “Coco” just last year.

New Zealand audiences have always shown their love for Miguel’s talents, his last album “Wildheart” debuted on the RIANZ Album Charts at #16 and his 2012 smash hit ‘Adorn’ was certified Gold – not to mention Tame Impala lending their psychedelic powers to a lush remix of Miguel’s breezy track ‘waves’.

Having already taken off through North America on his 35 date War & Leisure Tour, Miguel now heads to New Zealand before his Australian tour. Since appearing alongside Bruno Mars in 2014 at Spark Arena, this headline show is expected to be nothing short of epic.
