With early supporters including Rolling Stone, Billboard – who dubbed the band ‘Rock’s Next Big Thing’ – People Magazine, Consequence of Sound and more, The Band CAMINO have blazed a blistering trail, garnering 2.5 million monthly Spotify listeners and more than 330 million global streams to date.
Since relocating from Memphis to Nashville in 2018, the three-piece outfit – singers/guitarists Jeffery Jordan and Spencer Stewart and drummer Garrison Burgess – have been honing their signature ‘Band Camino’ sound, carving a name for themselves at the crossroads of pop and rock music. Their 2021 self-titled debut album showcased the trio’s electrifying guitar-driven sound, first introduced on their anthemic EP tryhard in 2019, which spawned fan favourites ‘Daphne Blue’ and ‘See Through’.
Second studio album, The Dark, honed in on the sound The Band CAMINO spent their career perfecting and crafting, with Beyond The Stage recognising the album as a moment in time where the band “navigates through a fresh era of self-discovery and emotional healing” and Echo saying “it’s an experience akin to an emotional roller coaster with intricately crafted, guitar-fuelled sounds.” The band spent the remainder of the year touring the album across the US receiving praise from fans and critics hearing tracks from The Dark performed live for the first time.
Selling out multiple tours – including their largest headline run to date in 2022 – and hitting the major festival circuit with performances at Lollapalooza, Hangout, Forecastle and Austin City Limits (where they were named a ‘breakout act’ by Grammy.com), The Band CAMINO’s highly-engaged fans now span worldwide. The band’s growth has been largely stimulated by raw discovery, even catching the attention of Taylor Swift, who included their reflective track ‘Berenstein’ on her ‘Songs I’m Loving Right Now’ playlist.
The Band CAMINO recently performed live at Auckland’s Powerstation alongside local act Park Rd. We had Robin Wilkinson there to photograph the show – check out her photos below!
